These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the study guide applications and the studyguides.dlaisoft.com website (together, the "Services") published by David Lai ("we", "us"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms.

1. Use of the Services

The Services are provided for personal study and exam preparation purposes. You may not use the Services to develop a competing product, to scrape or bulk-extract content, or to reverse-engineer the AI tutor's prompts or responses.

2. AI tutor disclaimer

The in-app AI tutor produces responses based on a large language model and reference materials. Responses may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not rely on the tutor as the sole source of truth for any certification exam or professional decision; always verify against official documentation and exam objectives.

3. Purchases

The app offers an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase (the "Premium Unlock") that removes usage limits on the AI tutor. Purchases are processed by Apple under their standard App Store terms; we receive no payment details. The Premium Unlock is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on devices signed into the same Apple ID via Settings → Premium → Restore Purchases in the app. There is no auto-renewing subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's refund policy.

4. Intellectual property

All content in the Services — including question banks, written explanations, illustrations, and source code — is owned by David Lai or licensed to us, and is protected by copyright. You receive a personal, non-transferable license to use the Services; no other rights are granted.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Services to violate any law; (b) submit abusive, infringing, or harmful content via the support form or AI tutor; (c) attempt to disrupt the Services or circumvent usage limits.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will help you pass any exam.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services. Our total aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, or USD $50 if you paid nothing.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
